Our History
Buenavista Elementary School was named after the barangay where it is located- Buenavista. The word Buenavista was derived from the words “buenas” meaning lucky and “vista” or place which when we put together means lucky place.
This school was established in the year 1966-1967 with Miss Linda Martinez as its first teacher. It had only grade one class which remained the same until SY 1967-1970.
It had been a satellite school of Sablayan Central School since its existence in 1966 until 1977. When Sablayan District redistricted into two, Buenavista Elementary School became the mother school of Sablayan North District.

From a classroom made of bamboo and nipa, Buenavista Elementary School had evolved. Due to increasing enrolment annually, its school buildings multiplied and concreted to cater the learner’s need, thus, making them more conducive to learning. Looking forward for a greater progress Buenavista Elementary School is on its way of developing its new site located at Sitio Macambang, along PUP and District Hospital with the land area of 10 000 square meters. This parcel of land was donated by the Local Government Unit of Sablayan in 2012.
